Sanco Processing manufactures and install processes to concentrate liquids also to make them ready for, for example, spray drying. For that we use evaporators, TVR and MVR or a combination of both.
Our evaporators are used mainly in dairy (food) related processes, but are also suitable for waste water and (light) chemical processes. The reason of evaporation is the removal of water. From a liquid stage into a gas stage (vapor). These kind of processes ask a lot of energy, steam for TVR and electricity for MVR.
MVR

MVR ( mechanical vapor recompression) evaporators are using a ventilator to compress the vapor stream. This compression gives the necessary temperature difference between the condensing vapor and the warm evaporating liquid. Most MVR evaporators exists out of one effect with multiple passes. An MVR evaporator does not need steam, except for start up. MVR evaporators are more efficient then TVR evaporators but are more expensive in initial purchase. The ventilator uses a lot of electrical energy. The choice between TVR or MVR is often the choice between steam or electricity. A combination form both is also often used to reach higher concentrations in the final product.
TVR

TVR ( thermal vapor recompression) evaporators are using steam for evaporation, mostly with thermo compression to re use the vapor temperature and reheat. TVR evaporators exists out of several effects, normally three up to seven effects. The more effects the more efficient the TVR will be on steam usage per kilogram evaporated product. Preheaters can be build in easily in effects or separators to use the heat optimal.
Components
In earlier days open “mix” condensers were used to condensate the vapor into liquid, the cooling medium was in direct contact with the vapor and is nowadays a risk. We manufacture “closed” condensers where in cooling medium and vapor are separated, a tube heat exchanger. All from stainless steel 1.4301 or 1.4404 with or without preheating, vertical or horizontal.
The thermo compressor is used in TVR evaporators to re use the vapor (temperature) and compress this, in other words the pressure and temperature of the vapor will be increased.
In the thermo compressor vapor will be mixed with steam with a higher pressure. The steam is injected in the thermo compressor by a nozzle and through the speed of the steam vapor will be sucked from the process. This is energy saving. We design and manufacture thermo compressors on process specs.
The direct steam injector is used in evaporators where high heat products are made. With the right quality of steam, direct steam injecting is possible. Mostly in combination with product holding and product flashing.
After heat treatment of several products residence time is wanted on a certain temperature. We design and manufacture holding tubes for this with several holding times and CIP cleanable.
Separators are necessary for evaporators, both TVR and MVR, we fabricate these in hygienic design.
Flash vessels (to reduce pressure/temperature) are used to flash the products to reach the right temperatures for the process.
Cooling towers in various executions and customer specific are often part of our projects. Cooling in a pleat heat exchanger or condenser to cool down product or vapor is common for us. Noise regulations and water treatment are important and part of this installations.
Not all our evaporators are used for dairy applications, in the juice and beer processes we also deliver evaporators. These products may not loose its taste or smell. For that we have special aroma recovery systems where we gain back the aroma from the condensate and inject this back or store these separate.
